No, too busy pouring a second toast and remembering all those awesome changeovers...Well that was quick. Tired of gloating already?
That is sweet.Planed some wood yesterday. Started out slow (one turn) then I started cranking the thickness down more. This was three turns on the thickness adjustment. 5 hp will eat some wood. Need to figure a better way to move the boards back to front. I have a bunch of wood to plane. Rollers?

Come on Matt, Thomas. Spill the details.
With prime rib, you were either savoring victory or licking wounds.
Inquiring minds want to know.
Morning everybody. Coffee time .
We had good runs all day; saws running good with good change overs other than I hung a muffler (on upcut) on the cant in the alky class, which I didn't have a chance to win anyway.
Me: 3rd in 3 cube gas (346), 3rd in 4 cube gas (365), 3rd in loggers class (3120)
Butthead/hole: 1st in 3 cube gas (346), 1st in 5 cube gas (7900), 1st in loggers class (3120), a 2nd (can't remember what class), and a 3rd (can't remember what class)
Loggers class: run any work saw with round chain.
1st place: $100
2nd place: $75
3rd place: $50
Gramps did buy dinner and gas since he was swimming in money. They gave away a 661 for the overall winner. Gramps was 2nd by only 2 pts!!!!
Good to hear Matt. I just realized that Jack wood like to have the freedom to do some of what I showed him I do milling and so on. Even tho he has a much newer more expensive vehicle, has a young daughter he loves and is paying for a large lovely home in a development that the buildings begin@ $200,000+^^^
At this time I'd just like to find someone with a twelve or fourteen foot trailer with a capacity of at least 14,000#. Tree service will cut to length & load oak logs 20"-40" diameter mix of white, red or black oak in there. I am willing to cover time & fuel ( I believe) to bring at least the largest back down to my place for milling

Howdy gents,
Sorry I've been out of touch a while. Still trying to heal up what started as a minor injury but has kept me out of work far too long. Doc seems to think it's a few more weeks yet, he gave me some exercises to do. The frustration is immense, and I don't have the patience or mental maturity to deal with it very well....
I visited Kenneth last weekend and we discussed trailer cranes. I found this one online, and if I can figure out how to run it with a powered cylinder, it might actually be a useful thing to have for loading logs. The dump bed has a plenty powerful pump, but this would take a splitter for the hydropower, and switch to transfer power one way or the other. Might be quite a bit of fuss, but if I can get it figured out, it may actually work.

Eighty some miles south of St. Louis. The tree service will be dropping these trees in the area of Manchester and 270, west St Louis county. So let's call it 300 miles from the west side of the state and then close to two hundred mile round-trip from picking up and delivering. The local heavy equipment rental/sales gets $100 an hour for their trailer moving from their parking lot and back. The distance and time on your part may exceed what I wood spend for them.I have a trailer like that. Gtw 14k

I’m on injured reserve for my tree service, so am able to make the time.
Where are you?

Yeah, it would take quite a bit of gasoline. Best of success getting the logs moved!Eighty some miles south of St. Louis.
