Off to the fence row again today.
Need about 3 more cord of hedge logs for a fella south of here.
The rest will just get piled.

Morning midlanders!

Going to take down a section of the privacy fence to get the Snapper in to back yard. Need it to collect the sweet gum balls. Can't hardly walk back there without rolling an ankle.[emoji37]

No. Muh hammer.

What I really need is a big vacume cleaner for them spikey balls.

Can't complain about the neighbor's tree. The shade prolly saves me on my cooling bill in summer.

Ran out of energy. Leave the Snapper in the back and put up the panel with a couple nails.
Time for ibuprofen and a nap.[emoji53][emoji99]

Here's the best part. My brother wanted the trees cut at least 5 feet above ground level to make it easier to push them out with the dozer. That's Dad climbing up to measure the diameter. Yes, I cut from the ground. Yes, I hurt. A lot.

On the plus side, I'll get several cord of hardwood out of the trees. The boys and I went over this afternoon and got a load of white oak. The white oak was just a smidge larger than the 20" bar on the Makita. It actually split pretty easy with a six pound maul. There is a nice hickory, two red oaks and at least one more white oak in addition to the big red oak in the photos.

That is awesome...Nice haul, nice trees, time with family; it doesn't get much better than that. Those big trees never look as big from a distance as they do when you start falling, bucking, and loading them. It is like they swell up over night or something.
