Thats a little far off my beaten path.Anyone around south Houston today?
Dang things are expensive.
But it's what mama wanted.
Happy Wife, happy life .
Just bought one..
Know your pain.
What did you guys get? I have spent $4-500 (maybe more) on mine in the past 6 months trying to keep the ice maker working and fixing a leak. It is not that old.
Yea these newer ones aren't as good. Mine is about 15+ years old it's a Kenmore gold if memory serves me correct. I'm told it was one of the last ones made in the USA b4 they went to China.

We got a new one a while back to replace our still working Whirlpool that was 38 years old. I highly doubt that the new one can last that long.Yea these newer ones aren't as good. Same here except I refabricated the upper and side storage cabinets to allow a modern-sized refrigerator to fit. If we were to stay with a size that would fit the old opening, there was only a couple very basic refrigerators that would fit.Yes they are. I'm lucky to the fact that my house is small and the spot for the fridge has cabinets built around it. So I'm stuck looking at the smaller ones only.
The one that quit on us was a whirlpool. I really liked it and it was about 10 years old. 6 feet away from it is one we bought when we moved into this house 33 years ago . The new one is a Frigidaire . Deck Decided to get ice and water in the door this time. It's a French door type with freezer on the bottom. 2 ice makers, one in the door and one below .What did you guys get? I have a clothes washer on the outs also. Repair man said it would be better to replace than fix and to run it until it quits. And what wife will go for a mis-matching washer and dryer?

Thanks Steve!
Cheapest stainless looking one from Lowes that had an ice maker. Ours was becoming so troublesome, we had to quit using the ice maker. Once they become troublesome, ya can't ever make em right again. What did you guys get?
