After 2 pressure switches I put gauges on.
Turns out it was overcharged and shutting off on high side pressure.
I've seen the orfice tube plug b4 and cause high head pressure and kick out the compressor but not be over charged b4.

Morning midlanders!

Been run/cut testing down on Easton/Saxton road.

Rather than just cutting cookies and ruining usable wood for someone else I’ve been cutting blocks and leaving the scabs.

Storing them on the front porch.

Blondie is not pleased tho. [emoji6]

Another hot one, but had a nice break from it yesterday.
Since its hotter than heck and middle of summer, a firewood question. Have any of you burned sweet gum? An old man here in town has a big pile of wood from a tree he had taken out and said I can have any or all of it. Before I went back and looked at it, I asked him what kind of tree it was. He said it was an elm. Yeah, I know. When I went back there though, the limbs were for sure sweet gum. The big blocks I'm not totally sure. Didn't really look like elm, but I guess it could be.
I'm going to have to break out one of the big gear drives to rip up those blocks though. Thing was massive!

Sweetgum is decent firewood but before spending a lot of time make sure it will split. Some tear like Elm but a straight grown forest tree splits rather easily. Will use quite a bit of gum each winter but I pick my battles. Very fast to season but very fast to rot or spailt after cut and not split

What Louie said. Sweetgum can be nasty to split, worse than elm in some cases. I get wood from a couple tree services and told them (over a year ago) not to call me for sweetgum anymore. It will burn, so if you need the wood, go for it.

Honestly, this one was my fault.
It's acted up since we got it 3-4 years ago. It would cool on the highway and stop cooling in town. I replaced the cycling switch last year and kinda/sorta/ maybe not fixed it so I added another can .
I was taught R12 in Votech which has a low side operating pressure of 32lbs +-. Which translates to a 32 degree evaporator . (R12 boils at -21f) Back in my day most car companies ran the compressor constantly and regulated the low side/suction pressure to achieve needed evaporator pressure. (Sawnami remembers those, right?) Nowadays they cycle the compressor to regulate pressure so they have sensors and switches for that . Found that her truck is supposed to cycle on at 40psi and of at 27. (Light bulb moment) So low side should still be similar to R12.

Corn and sweet taters Like this hot weather.
In a month, the sweet tater plants will have that raised bed completely covered.
Are your sweet potatoes in rich dirt?
We planted ours in rich dirt once, and had beautiful large plants, but they didn't make any taters.
Just curious how you do it.

Must be very deep. But no clay. Well drained and light/ loose. They like long days and hot temps. Any time spent under 80 degrees, they are not growing at all.

Yep, remember the old POA and VIR systems. My primary diagnostic tool was a hammer. Tap the valve with a hammer and see if the chunk of ice frozen around it thaws away. If so, the internal valve was sticking and you overhauled it. No assembly replacement back then.

Sometime that isn't big enough! I had to get one in 22lb size for certain jobs. Seems I mostly use that on the chevys for some reason though! :) must be a design problem!
