Alternator went out on the Passat, so I had the privilege of removing that this morning...
Have I mentioned my love of automotive mechanics lately???

Exactly...
We had zero useable signal here. But with some info digging, I figured the device was worth a try.
I got it up above any metal building and aimed directly at the nearest tower.
We went from 1 bar of 1X to 2 bars of LTE..

Key is un-obstructed line of straight signal to the tower.

I sold cell services and a wireless internet service in a rural area with bluffs and coulees along the Mississippi for 15 years. I’ve got lots of goofy “line of sight” stories. Main things to remember: You can’t make signal, and it won’t go through dirt or leaves!
