Most everybody sells Schuemaker.
I personally don't like quick charges. You can overheat, warp and damage plates. Plus, if the battery is sulphated, a quick/fast charge can bake sulphation into the plates. That being said, a quick charge has its place . The key to charging is don't get the battery warm/hot to the touch. I prefer a slow charge of up to 5-6 amps. 1-2 amps is better and you can walk away and forget about it . All of this pertains to a normal car type/size battery. The smaller the battery, the less amps to charge . Shuemaker makes a nice battery maintainer charger. A nice slow charge and then it will float .

Morning Kenneth!

Morning midlanders!

Fixed Doc’s 050 recoil/tank yesterday. Three of the four attachment screws broken off. Three were easy Helicoil fix. Bottom rear was a *b-word. Now it’s got a 6mm screw.

If there is one powerhead that desperately needs a comp release, this is it.

Darn thing is a tank.

Hard to imagine that without a comp release. The 056 mag 2 is hard enough to start. There has to be a way to machine one in there.

Like the first part and sorry to hear about your pops. Safe travels for you.

Thanks, Wayne. He took the time to write eight adventure stories for Emerson, midnight full moon rides on old 1073, the prairie locomotive that sits in a park west of downtown. Great stories of “Old Kansas,” with railroad Chinamen, steamboats, talking buffler, Injuns, cavalry, soddy folk, outlaws, good stuff from a great historian. I spect he’s on the home stretch, and there ain’t much left for him to do much more with, but I want to get his academic contact list and try to maybe get some of his research out there in the scholar community, maybe help him with his swan song.

This is gonna be one tough slog. Maybe being with me will lift his spirits enough to give him a few more months. I printed off the original 1714 text of The Riot Act, and I’m gonna read him The Riot Act, so to speak, to the effect that if he’s not done living, he’d best be taking better care of himself and letting someone come in regularly and help his stubborn asp. I worked with young criminals for years, and it is true that killers really do look right through you ( i am not making this up), and I can be kind of a prick when that’s what it takes to get the point across. My job is to help him keep his independence, and to check out on his own terms when he’s ready, but he needs to get his affairs in order and handle his business as long as he is able, a fact which is more than somewhat in question at this point. Dean is important to me; and I’m not quite ready to let him go, not just yet dang it.

Wish me luck, men.

Good morning gentlemen.

I am looking for a good automotive battery charger. The last one I bought was an electronic Schumacher (sp?) that gave up the ghost a while back. I don't need a 24v one. Looking for something that can do a quick charge, as well as a trickle charge for ressurecting batteries that have been sitting for a while. Having a boost function would be nice.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
Depends on your price range but Midtronics makes some very good chargers that you might look into. We've got a couple that are around eight years old with zero failures. We are required to put the charger on every new vehicle received and evaluate the battery condition. They never sit idle.

For the extreme side, our $5,000 charger balancing the 96 cell groups in a Volt battery after replacing one of the battery sections. (355V DC)

Thanks!

There are several of the GR8-1150's on ebay. Looks like that would be a better investment than a $200 unit that only works the first 4 times you use it.

Many years ago I had an 056 mag kick back so hard it dislocated 2 of my fingers. Hated those saws for years after that.

Morning everybody. Feels like it's going to be another warm one in the Ozarks today. I've gotta get my motivation fired up. Got a ton of work I need to do today. Also guess I'm going to have to break down and go see my chiropractor. Tweaked my back last week and it's not getting any better.
