Good evening everybody. Just got back from the church retreat. Kids went nuts. Campfire was a good one. Weather was perfect. Later...

Congrats Matt, Alan, and Mike. Sounds like you represented us with pride.

Wind loops. Nature of the beast. 'Spinning reel'.

Why I started using level wind bait casters long ago.

But once you get down to a 1/4 oz., only game in town.
Please explain "wind loops" and "level wind bait casters".
The girls are showing an interest in fishing and I want to encourage it, but I need schooling myself. I know I bought the cheap stuff, but figured it was a good place to start. I can always get better stuff later, as I get better.
I don't know a 1/4 ounce shot from a salmon egg.
I was looking around the store, at the campground, and was nothing but confused with all the different types of lures and equipment. I would love to go with someone to Bass Pro, or someplace, and learn about this stuff.
As we go camping in the future we will be bringing the girls with us and I desperately need to teach them outdoor stuff. When my kids were young we would go tent camping or floating and they tell me they have wonderful memories. I just want my grandkids to have the same memories.

Tim Homesly can tell you exactly what the trout are hitting on and how and where to fish it. He owns Tim's Fly Shop on the right just before you go down the hill into the park. You're welcome to anything that I have Steve.

Your local pond is best to learn at catching bluegills and little bass
Those trout can be finicky

Level wind bait casting reel puts no twist in the line.
Study your spinning reel and the kid's spin casting reel as they pay out line.

The twist builds up and you get loose loops on the spool.

The above is the smallest reel Cabalas offered on a 7' medium light Kistler Helium rod.

The bait cast reel takes a ton of practice.

Evening fella's. Wheel bearings for the mower came today and got installed, but some dum-dum left the key on and drained the battery. No idea who would've done that. :D I guess I'll mow tomorrow after the battery charges.
