He's buttering me up. He's going to buy 5 retired commercial wood chippers that he wants me to make at least one good one out of.

I'd like to make a PTO driven one for my tractor out of one of those!

My friend said that he was checking out this guys retired equipment line and saw a low hour turbo diesel chipper in the retired line. He asked to buy it and the guy said he was not sure that he was allowed to sell it yet but would check. Apparently it was involved in a law suit from eating a worker up to his knees.[emoji46]

Good morning! Back into the cold weather. Yesterday I got the trailer deck painted a nice blue green, the wood is not treated, and I figured the screw holes and knots would not last long. I had the gallon of Kilz porch paint lying around for years, it cost me six bucks at the Habitat store, I think it looks great on there. Also got the angle iron tool box brackets painted with implement paint. That preparation of raw steel has to be less labor intensive. I tried vinegar and alcohol, but it was a sanding operation and a mess. I think the result will hold up well, though. I have an old can of Devoe structural tank primer I finally got to use after saving it for fifteen or more years. That has a solvent I haven't smelled for a while....

The shotput was a bit of a shocker.
He's never taken that one very seriously.

This works good for raw ironScreenshot_2016-08-30-05-33-28.png

And then put your favorite color right over it.
