3.7?
Thin ring or thick ring?
I think it's the 2800 or 3000. Don't know which one. It was tuned decently and only needed a sharp chain to be ready for action. I dressed the bar a bit, sharpened the chain and tried it. Good running saw, especially for the price I paid.

And today I picked up a Makita DCS 6401 with a scored piston and a Stihl 017. Pawn shop wanted to be rid of the 6401 because they lost money on it and I picked up the 017 in the deal during the haggling phase.

Three new saws. The 017 is a runner, so it's been an really good week!

Good score!
Are you going strait to the 7900 head for the 6401?

That's my plan. I don't have any experience with that engine so it will be new to me.

Maybe I can find someone who knows something about porting these saws and do some trading....
I will look I may have a 6400 p/c. If you are interested.

Pawn shops don't lose very often, given what they pay for things. Must have not bothered to check it out. Our pawn shop has a good looking 038 and an 028 for sale, but no way I'd pay 475 for an old 038, unless it were a real specimen.
