Morning midlanders!

Forty years with Blondie today. Time flies when you are having fun?
23 years for Digger's Mom and me. Sometimes I come back from a trip and ask her "Have you missed me?"
She replies "Every time I've shot so far..."

Boys and I finished up the rounds that were left on the hill after the charity cut. I asked if they wanted to fire up the splitter to finish the rounds. They said "We ARE fired up!" They split the better part of a truckload with axes and mauls (and some occasional noodling).

After that we moved the splitter to the tree Nick cut down. Big white oak. There's a lot of wood in that one. When it is finished, my guess at the total wood cut and split for the Good family will be around 10 cords for them.

That makes my back hurt just looking at his splitting posture... I remember those day though. Built a few muscles that way.

This is the sort of thing that pops up on my internet these days. Sherrill seems a bit over priced to me.

I'll bet it costs about $50 to make it.
IF that...

Got this on a trade type deal today.
Friend of mine, about 15 years older than me, lost a good friend (he called him uncle Bob, no relation though) a few days ago. Bob would come and make home repairs for him whenever needed.
I had gone down just to visit. Long story short, I have been chosen to take Uncle Bob's place. So he gave me this rider as payment for future repairs that we discussed. This was his favorite rider (he had 2) but it smokes a little. I think I'll go through the engine this winter and give it back to him in the spring.

Good Lord. I realize that you're not supposed to covet your neighbor, but I would love to see your property sometime. It looks like you have a hell of an operation!

On a side note @WKEND LUMBERJAK Wichita wants that Tyson plant big time I read the other day.
I'd think Wichita would be a great place for it.
Maybe 10 - 15 min northeast, just off a highway.
Might be a little far away from KC logistically speaking, but could work out a back haul deal with the KC Star for peanuts. They're down there 7 days a week any way.

And a "Guten morgen" to each of you. It is Monday, and projects beckon. Working on a lean-to woodshed for lumber, and trying to figure out a way to store too many saws that need work. I think a cabinet with a door on it that is under a lean-to roof is the best way to deal with the gas odor from a bunch of saws with old gas lines and such. Maybe next month I'll be able to get some of them rehabbed and for sale. I need to learn to fix oiling systems...

Hope your day is productive.
