I've always had a thing for 330's myself. 1st saw I ever used in fact. Close friend used one as his only firewood saw for 20 years. Great handling saw with ideal balance. Reasonably light. Most guys dismiss them because of that boot. The replacement if which does require both patience and a creative vocabulary. And I think a reluctance to replace them is part of the reason it's still easy to find them in nice shape as you mentioned. Gonna pull one of mine out and run it today. 🤪

Got a good start on reassembling the 26LCS this afternoon. The belt is pretty rough so I will abandon my original intent to get it to run on a prime. I will do my best to make sure it has a spark even if I can't run it. The seals on either end of the rotating carburetor are also pretty bad so I doubt is would be able to run very well in any case.

I think running the throttle with your left thumb would have taken some getting used to.

Cleaned this one up to put it in the display. Several problems (like a leaky cylinder gasket) keeping it from being a runner. It does have very good spark...

Those arent that hard to work on Mark.
Ive got one that my dad currently has possession of.
Most-likely I'll have to "inherit" it to get it back.😁
Its a stout little thing, punches way above its weight class, and looks darn good doing it.
Love the 3 tone paint with chrome accents. Homelite put a lot of style into those saws.
Gotta think whoever designed those had car guys that loved the 50s/60s styling In mind.

Very cool Spike. Way back in the early 80's the old school hardware store I was working at (we also had a small engine repair shop in the same hardware building which is where I was) we were both a Homelite and Poulan dealer. The hot new saws at the time were the Homie 360 and the Poulan 3400 which we sold lots of both. The 330's also sold well. I felt the 330's AV system worked quite well and made them very smooth runners with decent power. I now have three in the stable, two real nice ones and one as a user or seller..... :)
