Not sure if y'all saw the giveaway thread, but I found a 240 at the dump if anyone wants me to ship it to them just foot the freight and it's yours.

I was given a 330 in great shape are they worth the trouble of fixing I know it needs a carb boot.I have had several xls and super xls and like them does the 330 how does it compare to the older ones .after I made this post I tore it down the carb boot had already been changed but the fuel lines were bad put new ones in and it runs great I'll try it out tomorrow.
I know this thread is insanely old, but just wanted to say I encountered the same thing on a 330 I picked up a couple months ago. After pulling it down and giving it a good bath, I found the boot to be like new and was most likely replaced, but whoever did it didn't check the fuel line which was collapsed and the stone type filter was coming apart in the tank. After replacing both and cleaning the carb, it runs like a top. I've always liked the 330's despite what others have said about them. They can still be found cheap in near new condition. I bought this one shown just a few days back that's also in really nice shape for fiddy$..... :) 20231209_114044.jpg20231209_114055.jpg

Thanks Old Buckeye, I appreciate you looking out for me.

How did you ever stumble across that information?

Regards Homelite friends! Excuse me butting in here

Just wanted to put a feeler out here that I'm looking for a 450 to complete my search. I'd really like to find a 450W but those aren't very common it seems. Or at least around my woods.

Parts saws, parts by themselves, full wraps, and the rare west coast felling spikes PN# A-12481 are welcome of course.

I suppose I'd look at 550's also but I'd like to try and find a 450 first.

I apologize if I shouldn't have posted this here. I've been a member for a couple years it seems but still don't have privileges to post in that buying/selling section.

Thanks!

Regarding buying/selling - you just need to have 25 posts to open up that possibility. Just be a little more active and then you’ll be able to buy and sell as you please.

Here's my latest fixer upper,a 1982 SXL.It needed a new fuel line & filter, rebuilt carb, new ignition module, new needle grommet, new 20 in.bar & chain, new duck bill in the fuel cap.I fueled it up today & about 5-6 pulls later it was running.I may have to swap out the carb as it had a leak down problem & it was a bear to try to tune. The crank seals seem to be good.
