I have a nos full wrap handle for a homelite xl 901 that I am selling. It should fit all of the early 900s. I have the instruction sheet to go with it. Pm me if interested and I can send some pics.

A friend is looking for a replacement chain, is this full 3/8 pitch or 3/8 LP? I can't tell from the photo...he says it is marked "350" and "M" and comes off a Homelite XL

Thanks,

I have a Super Wiz 66 undergoing cleaning and repairs with a cracked flywheel (I.D. is broken at the keyway). The keyway on the crankshaft is also damaged but I think I can clean it up well enough to function again.

Does anyone know offhand which other saws would use the same flywheel? I have several parts saws up on shelves but would like to avoid bringing them down one by one to find a replacement.

Thanks,

Mark

I had a very troublesome XL2 in recently, owner wanted it running again... 120 PSI compression, good spark, I ended up replacing the crankshaft seals as the PTO side was leaking. Rebuilt the carburetor (Walbro HDC) and while the saw would always start and run it would not idle correctly.

Additional pressure testing revealed the oiler plunger/gaskets were leaking so I order a set from LRB, but is would still leak in that area and the idle issues continued.

I even tried a solid rubber gasket in place of the plunger, rerouted the oiler lines like the early models and no change with the idle issues.

I went over the carburetor several times, all ports were open, check valve operational, choke and throttle shafts did not have excessive wear, metering lever is set correctly, certainly no obvious problems there. Of course I installed new OEM Walbro gaskets and diaphragms.

Ultimately I replace the carburetor with another used, rebuilt (fixed H jet) version and the saw behaved as it should other than being pig rich on the high side.

I would really like to know what the issue was with the original carburetor.

It has nothing to do with Homelite but it does with carbs .Although I think I'm fairly good at them every so often one comes along that will drive you bonkers .You just have to throw in the towel and get another one .Just recently I did battle with a Tilley HS and the carb won .

Hopefully this is not too much of a sidetrack, but being new to forums I need to polish up my search techniques. I'm struggling with an HS right now on an SXL 925, and I recall reading a thread about HS governors and high speed check valves a couple of weeks ago. I remember you and another member were discussing how to modify the HS so it can be tuned normally using the high speed screw jet, but cannot seem to locate that thread. Am I remembering correctly, and is there a way to shoot me a link to that thread if I am? Thanks in advance

Got my build of my 944 done. New old stock case, new rod, piston, jug, coil, carb ,all new bearings and a bunch more stuff. I am still doing the heat cycles on it. This is the easiest saw I have seen or have to start.
