I've cut a little bit with this one, as you say they are not terrible. This one couldn't decide if it was 42 or 36 cc...

Wasn't that series designed by a European maker, Oleo-Mac perhaps?
Guessing you're asking about the saw I posted about, if so, to be honest I've never really looked into the history of this series of saws, but could very well be.

Poulan was good at selling saws shown as 34cc or 40cc, but when looking at the actual model ID tag on the saw they're 42cc, sales gimmick I guess, it was done on both strat and non strat style saws. I'm guessing Homelites of these later clamshell designs did the same thing, but at this time I can't really confirm, I'll have to do some research on them.

The 2050/2150/2350 were all the same saw with different bar lengths. Engine part numbers were identical. I've had a few of them and they work surprisingly well with a good tune and decent chain. I think the current super cheap Huskies are descended from them.

I found a 360 in a carry case on my rack-o-saws, I believe it came in the lot from Woody Strommen. Decided it was time to get it cleaned up and going. I took it apart in a hurry and didn't pay strict attention to all of the fasteners and had to resort to IPL's during reassembly to try and get everything back in it's proper place. I was amazed at the number of variations on the 360 models, almost as confusing as 10-10 McCulloch saws.

My son Jeff comes most Saturdays to help so I put him to work cleaning parts.

The air filter brackets and a few screws were missing when it arrived, evidently Woody started to disassemble to replace the boot and quit the project early. Jeff Hendricks has the brackets reasonably priced so I have one on the way, screws should be no problem.

Does anyone have a good resource for air filters? I'd like to sell this one once it is done but would like to have a new air filter to go with it. Best I can determine is PN A-12225.

I was testing the 360 on Monday and I could not get it to oil correctly. I tried to remember all of the pointers Fossil has provided and eventually tracked down a cracked elbow where the line from the oil tank connects to the oil pump housing.

Turns out you can tap the steel portion of the fitting with a 6-32 and install a screw to allow you to pull the fitting out without damaging anything.

I had a nylon elbow on hand that was just the right size for a nice press fit in the boss above the oil pump housing. I did pull the pump out and made sure everything was clean and copacetic, we now have a reliable chain oiler once again.

I'll add this saw to my "For Sale" rack as I already have a nice 360 in the display.

its funny I got offered another two, I told some other guys about them and now 3 of us have one
If your handy with a file a common large mount husqvarna bar fits on the bar studs. Husqvarna has a 9mm slot and big Homelites 9.5mm . The adjustment holes needed opening up also.
I did this for my Super 1050A to run a much cheaper Oregon sprocket tip bar.

They are sort of a rare bird ,so equivalent to a 82cc McCulloch? Maybe . If it's in decent shape and runs you're probably looking at least 450.00 .
I restored one to good running condition a few years ago and it's a very good saw.

When I saw it I thought it was an xl 925 at first glance and have wanted one ever since I fixed one for an old guy. Of course I realized it wasn’t after a closer look. Gave a quick look at the spec and then figured it may be better in my collection being it’s kinda like a 925 with av
