Hi guys,I picked up an XL-103 a couple of weeks ago.For some reason it was missing the flywheel & had all kinds of padding taped onto both handles.I cut all the padding off & found a flywheel from a 101 in my stash.I've been in the hospital lately & just got home last night,so I haven't had a chance in the last week to work on it.
The problem I'm having with it it the throttle lock doesn't work.I took the handle apart & the trigger is like new.It has the throttle lock pin,the spring on exterior that goes over the throttle lock pin,& the plastic bushing is intact in the handle half.Is there any other part that's missing that should be in there? Thanks in advance!

One day I will get the 26 LCS cleaned up as well.

I have a few other Homelite models as well to represent another great American chainsaw company.

I already have a nice Super 2 cleaned up and ready to go and it won't take much to get the Super Wiz 66 and 6-22 prepared as well.

In addition, I have some Homelite bling to accompany the saws.

That thing looks kind of like a Briggs and Stratton condenser except the Briggs uses a coil spring to hold the wire .

FWIW any condenser that could be fit in the space provided and connected will work on a magneto type of ignition system .Unlike a battery spark where a mismatch of microfarad rating will cause the points burning on one side or the other ,it's only function in life is to stop the points from flashing over .In effect it acts like pressure tank on a water system .

Does anyone know the max rpm for a 1050 auto. Acresinternet says 10.5 but I read an old post on another forum that says that is too high.
Maybe 10 feel spin or no load but loaded with cutting around 6500 for mine.

Trying to revive a few little xl's, etc.

Are the early Super2 points flywheels compatible with a later electronic coil if I wanted to convert?

I am not certain about the Super2 flywheels but I know that the SXL style flywheels are not compatible. The polarity of the magnets is opposite on the two systems. I don't know why they are that way but I know from personal experiance that they do not interchange on the SXL series.
