This 103 is a 1 13/16 bore.I have a NOS XL-101 cylinder. 1 15/16" pilot.
I'd part with it maybe.

Are you willing to part with one of them if the cylinder is the same?It looks like a xl500 is a souped up xl12.74 cc compared to 54cc/58cc
I have a couple of parts xl 76's which look to have the same cyl as your xl 103.
Piston is scrored, cylinder is scored and the chrome is coming off. I think I have a piston. Mainly I need the cylinder, top handle and the top handle bracket.Absolutely, what is wrong with yours?
From what i see the XL 76 is the same except it's red and the handles are blackPiston is scrored, cylinder is scored and the chrome is coming off. I think I have a piston. Mainly I need the cylinder, top handle and the top handle bracket.
This one I have is red. Well red.....ish. haha. The handle I don't care. From what i see the XL 76 is the same except it's red and the handles are black
Never seen one of these Tim, Must be a Terry saw only.
Looks to be in excellent shape. Very nice.
Sorry I took so long.Could you post a picture,of that chain please? Does it cut like milling chain or regular? Is it square or round and chisel or semi chisel? The reason I ask is that type chain might be fun to run on my Titan ER.
Thanks, that looks kinda strange the way the back of the cutter extends, but seems to be a kind of semi chisel.Sorry I took so long.

These older saws got me hooked. The only new saw I have left is my ported 395 lol. Anyone know the best way to get the clutch off a 750? This one needs new springs. Also I need to find a bar big enough for it lolWhen you get tired of the Whiz let me know.

is the XL-500 a decent saw. I haven't came across one ever.
I take the shoes out and have this old automotive special tool that slips between the spiders. I've got a bunch of large sockets that I took a die grinder to to get the spacing and number of lugs to fit the clutches on other saws. Just for curiosity I used my dial-type torque wrench to check the breakaway torque on one 750 and it was right at 100 ft lbs to break loose. They're only supposed to be installed at 180 in.lbs. but tend to get much tighter with use. There's a hole in the bottom to insert a 3/16 drill bit into to lock the flywheel.
