I'm in the market for a heat gun,I run through the cheap ones and need a good one,so what are you guys using?

Also should this thread be someplace else? Technical area?
Thanks,Jason.

The one and only heat gun I can recommend and that I own and use is a
MASTER APPLIANCE several different models available, pick the one that
fits your needs. As always you get what you pay for!
And always remember to leave the blower run after you turn the heat off
to cool the heating element down. It will last you a longggggg time.

Milwaukee is generally a good tool,
I bought 4 10$ ones from hf in june and I'm out. They work awesome for a month.

I split a ton of saws and use one alot, tired of junk.lol

I'd have to agree the Master appliance are tough. We had them last for years on the production floor and those guys can destroy most anything in short order.

Have a Master Appliance "ProHeat VariTemp", Model PH-1200. Used to use it regularly, for prolonged periods. Still going strong after fifteen years. Got it either from Grainger's, or McMaster-Carr, don't recollect which.

What JetMD said about leaving it running, to allow it to cool down, too.

I agree the cool down feature is what keeps them going. I bought a Porter cable and was disappointed that it doesn't do this.

I will be anticipating the arrival of a wicked sharp chain.

For those that don't know kevin builds a damn fast chain, when I video a saw I try to only use a Moparmyway or mdavlee chain,I'm lucky to have them as friends.
