20210603_152259.jpg72 ford. Put this 390 in, now going to pull it out. Ate both lifters on #2 on first test drive. Having a different engine built now, stroker 390. Engine builder says new lifters have been real sketchy last year and half, China must of forgot something in the steel mix. He has started checking and reconditioning original lifters. He had lost about 8 on the dyno in the last year.

Awesome ole Ford you got there!
Noted on Chinese steal.
To all, hang on to your rebuild-able OEM parts. Most likely they will be needed.

That looks sick what sort of speed do you get outa that bad boy .Looks like it eats sand dunes for breakfast :campeon::headbang:
I does about 100 in fifth, I usually only do that on flat racing, but I run the hills are usually pulling fourth at about 85.
Took the top end off last night, trying a different set up put a .010 thinner base gasket in , tightening up the squish and bumping up the compression a little bit, got 15 more psi, seeing how she likes it4C832768-F111-4463-8037-05295A2A5D61.jpeg

Finally got around to installing the carbon fiber chin spoiler and the aluminum lip I had a buddy cut for me. I modified some Turnbuckles to give it an adjustable angle, and it helps reinforce it a ton! 10434FEE-36E9-4E7E-9EC9-B933F11C3E2F.jpeg77326CA8-71AA-4A32-A15A-DDCDDA894DEA.jpeg1473A5C9-B844-4405-8BC1-620195F30208.jpegD78C7DB2-1034-43EA-ABDC-5DB9BE3AEB15.jpegA8674599-A669-4DA1-B02E-4CEB0D55A0C4.jpeg

Rebuilt 1993 d350 dodge frame. Rebuilt Cummins 12v. Including the injection pump. 2wd so added air locker to the Dana 80 rear end I used with disk breaks. Nv4500 driving a spicer 7041 aux trans. I forgot to add, I was mid-way through converting the old 1969 family 2wd F250 to a 4x4 with a 1971 F250 4x4 chassis when a major accident shut down my entire life, so I sold it to my brother. I was putting on a new cab and bed, and there was just too much work and even once I was discharged I just couldn’t do anything. So, I’m happy to have a highboy again and I’m happy that it needs (not could use) less work.

That's a sweet ride man! I love seeing the old school stuff, especially when it's in as great of shape as yours. What's the year on her?
I recognize it being '74 or older. Round headlights.

You might wanna rescind that “great shape” bit, the roof’s got a big dent in it (I might be able to “pop” that out, though) the driver’s fender is kinda buckled in the middle, there are 19 extra holes in each door, and the bed is ruined. However, I specifically wanted something that was decent but not nice enough that I’d feel bad if it got hurt.
In case you were wondering how the bed got trashed, the p.o. was a logger and he’d have the guy who loaded the log trucks drop a few log butts into the bed so he turn them in to firewood. You can guess what a happens when a Cat loader or grapple drops 8-foot long, 1-2 foot dia logs into a truck bed from over the sideboards.

Yep, I will repeat, she's in great shape.

Even if the goal was to "bring it back," a nice custom flat bed and some body work up front would make this ride.

1980 regal
Way back in my yunngins, a friend had an '79 or so Regal. He says to me, "Rebuild my engine." It was a SBC 350 that already resided. He shouldv'e just told me to stuff a cam in it and change out the intake and carb. I tore it all apart and to keep him on amends, tossed it all back together with the new cam and after mentioned. I never kept the rings and bearings organized. I was thinking he was going to get new slugs, rings, bearings..... NOPE. That engine had some power but it left a trail of blue smoke like Hansel n Gretal.
