Got the kit. Theres two gaskets the same other then one is a plastic material and other os like a softer rubbery type. Which one is better to use.

Use the rubber. The other one is mylar and tends to be stiffer.

If....and when....I ever loan a saw.....MY fuel goes with it!!! Only way around this not happening. If they have to borrow a saw their going to buy the cheapest gas they can find to run it....if they even buy fresh.....may just use their leftover from three years ago when their saw and weed eater quit.

I would have sent my gas with it but i just finished doin a bunch of cutting for myself and was almost out. I had enough gas to fill the tank on saw which should have been enough to top his tree till he desided to take the whole tree down.
If thers a next time and im out of fuel ill tell him to buy some trufuel. But ther shouldnt be a next time as i went over and cut the rest of the trees for him.

When he told me he had to mix up fuel for it i just thought to myself. Oh gosh what crap did you put in my saw and hopefully its mixed propper.

I would never load out one of my good saws.

My saws are running on 87 gas here with 32:1 Yamalube 2R.

I've had more issues with premium gas, especially with the mastermind 260.

Seems to be a hit and miss that the gas is good or bad.

So I've stopped buying premium.

I try and keep the gas fresh for the saws. If they sit for a while, the gas gets used up in my 1968 JD 140 lawn tractor which doesn't care what gas it's fed. The smell of Yamalube while cutting grass is good!

i would personally use the mylar diaphragm that comes in the kit instead of the rubber. they can handle alcohol better than the rubber counterpart can.

The mylar check valves probably do hold up better but as near as I can tell the diaphragms still appear to be buna-n impregnated cloth just like it always was .

The mylar(?) pump diaphragm results in lots of pulling for cold starts. I always use the rubber fabric if it is available.

Sadly, fewer and fewer kits contain the rubber fabric type.[emoji37]

Too bad they weren't made out of Viton rubber.
