I believe on the northstar Cadillac it is under the intake manifold. That's engineers for ya. They ain't gonna work on it lol. One of the main things I look at when I get a new rig is how hard things are to get at like the filters, starter, alternator, water pump etc. My dad just buys wrecked cars with 10-15k miles on them and then sells them before things start going out.
Mid 90's chrysler vehicle? Helped my dad change a headlight on his 2008 buick lucerne. Damn near have to take the bumper cover off. We removed a bunch of plastic clips and were able to Jimmy the headlight assembly out.Simple thing like a battery, which needs changing 5 years on average. Jack up vehicle, remove tire, take out bolts and clips to peel back inner fender to get to it.

Is that a late 80's to mid 90s 2 tank Ford? the check valves and breathers on those go bad kill pumps and won't let it build enough pressure at the rails. I think I went through almost half a dozen pumps in 15 or so years.Fuel pump went out in my truck. Was in the middle of dropping the tank when I noticed someone had been there before. I said a lot of swear words.
No, it's a 1990 s10 4.3l 4x4 5spd truck. I am familiar with that era of ford you speak of. I try to stay away from them. A friend of mine had one that would randomly not start. Threw tons of parts and time at it and kept doing the same thing. It would run fine when it did start. Kinda soured me on those trucks.... I do love me some old fords though. They just have to be carbermerated. Is that a late 80's to mid 90s 2 tank Ford? the check valves and breathers on those go bad kill pumps and won't let it build enough pressure at the rails. Good to know about the tank conversion. Another friend of mine had one of the same era and it would run rich all the time and never threw a CEL. Engine was a low mile rebuild and everything tune up related was in good shape. Stand behind it while trying to hook up the trailer and your eyeballs would be burning from all the raw fuel.So does running them low on fuel. The tanks in those trucks do not have baffled fuel tanks so when they get below a quarter tank the pumps can cavitate and over heat. Converting them to a single tank it the best fix.
If you throw a ton of parts at anything without proper diagnosis it can sour you on anything. Yes, OBD 1 ford's do suck big monkey balls to do any drivability on but you just need to think real simple and not over do it.
Oh, and carbs suck! Fuel injection all the way!

Got like 8 miles to a gallon haha. He sold it and bought a 05 chevy 3/4 4×4 with the 6.0. Been a pretty good truck. He also bought a 01 with the 8.1L and that things a beast. I've been looking for a more modern running gear to put my 66 ford on. Probably will just end up buying a late 70's 4x4 3/4 ton and put my 390 and 4 speed in.Either the cat was dead or the pcm had bad capacitors. The 87-91s where bad for capacitors taking a crap and causing all sorts of drivability problems.
Bet it blows better too!
