That's a pretty broad question. What size and type of wood are you cutting, and what is your budget?

I have very minimal experience. I wasn't wanting to buy the most expensive but I'd like to get a decent saw.

If you want a new saw the echo is a decent choice for your budget. (So I've heard, I don't own any echoes) If you want a used saw there are a lot of good possibilities out there. You could probably find a good used pro series Stihl like an 028, 036 or 038. Ultimately the choice is yours

Echo does make some pretty decent saws for the price.

Don't forget the safety stuff. That will cost you a few extra bucks, but it's well worth it, especially if you don't have much experience with a saw.

And for Gods sake, don't try to learn how to fell a tree based on a YouTube video. So many of those guys simply do not know what they're doing.

If you have any questions, post the up in the forum... there's lots of knowledgeable guys who can point you in the right direction.

Last year I took a federal fellers course .
When we were doing the actual cutting part of the course . the instructor gave me a real bad tree . so I tied a ribbon on it and walked away . he said why did you do that . so I told him the tree was above my capabilities . he said he been doing the course and was never told that . but he told me the best answer he ever heard
