Do they replace the trees when they reach a certain age, like fruit trees, or are they clearing the land for something else? Just curious, because I know nothing about growing almonds.
I'll ask them when I go back. I assume they're planting new trees because they are at that age and almonds are money makers. Supposedly over 3/4s of the worlds almonds are grown around here.

This is a large Redgum branch I semi cut today, this is for next year's wood.
By cutting it like this will aid in drying and by not fully cutting it though didn't let it drop on the ground.
Largest section was about 30".

They're not replacing them. Previous owner sold it when the trees got old and they just want to make it their retirement home. Wife wants to host events there or something. I'd grow hay on it if it were mine.

Ran the 20" 2065 mainly cause I started on the "big" end. (Almost hated using it in this dirty oak because it has a fresh loop of EXL on). Then lopped off the dead elm to burn as needed. The scabbard must be from a 52 or 70e says Jonsereds yet. Buddy tossed it to me when we were cutting fence line on his family's place

These I'll grab with the tractor for the splitter pile.

Woke up yesterday having done three deliveries the day before - told my wife "No deliveries scheduled; gonna get the rest of the birch we have here at the house split and stacked today; be a nice, easy Saturday!" Waited until a respectable hour (9am) so as not to rouse the neighbours & fired up the splitter. Then the phone started ringing - five deliveries and 2.5 cords later it was 8pm and just getting home. Now another 1.5 cords today. No rest for the wicked!B3A18F79-72B5-4871-AA82-1B3265811395.jpeg5EB05133-6BA2-45BF-B590-826EF1BC400E.jpegBDEE92BA-4506-41B8-A071-7D7DFA61A995.jpeg

Are most of your deliveries dump, collect, and leave? No stacking?

It’s hard to price I find because every house is a different situation. Could charge hourly but more people have a gripe about that than if it’s a flat fee.
I usually only stack for a couple older folks I’ve known all my life who have a hard time with it, usually an even trade for baked goods.

That is amazing; totally opposite here. Maybe I don't charge enough to stack.
I don't even offer to stack, but like I said if there was someone who really needed I would do it for free rather than charge to do it for someone who can do a little work themselves. Just last night a guy who I'm delivering $1,200 worth of wood to on Friday was hinting around about stacking; I told him if he wanted to cancel his order and buy from someone who stacks I would understand (I would sell the wood to someone else in a heartbeat, and probably for more net profit). He did not want to cancel his order. But if it had been some old couple who wanted wood for their cabin at the lake I would stack every stick for free. I hate lazy people.

Surely there is someone here near the AL/TN border who could use this. Mix of Hickory, Oak and Sassfrass; free for the taking. I can load it onto to your truck or trailer.
