Damn Edwin and Jason (wood fairy). Jason called earlier today about a removal he was doing but I declined. He then texted me a couple hours ago along with an address that's not far. Edwin said there was some mulberry so off I went. Didn't need this wood but we are a sick bunch.
There is one thing good about branch logs in the 4" to 6" dia. range. They don't weigh much and only have to be split once or sometimes not at all. I also ran into some hard maple in that wild collection. It will dry fast.

So, had a good weekend thanks to the sacrifice of our hero's. Picked up a nice bit of wood Saturday evening, spent yesterday with parents replacing a radiator in my mom's pickup with the help of my brother. Then today, went out to cut up the wood from Saturday and discovered that I still have some split hedge at Lefty's, now Bunny's. Got the wood cut up, loaded part of the hedge along with most of the new wood. Still have a bit more to split and haul to the house.
After that I am going to get moving on wood around Bunny's that's been down and just needs processed. Lot's to do and little time to do it.

Humble contribution...
Had to cut some Cherry a few months ago to get it seasoned for this Falls Deer Steaks. Lol
Those logs are 3-4ft long or longer.
Maybe a few Axe wedges also.

Was able to get pickup unloaded and stacked. Current thinking is to stack this year's wood along the south property line (where the single tote is). Should get full sun and plenty of wind plus I'll try to stock with maple, standing dead, and other faster drying wood. Going to try and not let this happen again. The 4 stacks in the back is all hedge from Jim. 20230603_192625.jpg

Thanks @Wolverine very slow but steady for me. Went out today so I could attack some weeds. After that loaded the rest of the hedge plus split the remainder by the splitter. Try to get this unloaded sometime this week. Next mission is some hackberry and elm that is down my her house.20230604_151203.jpg

I got this done yesterday.
A coworkers log pile.

Power team: Dolmar PS-6400, Dolmar PS-550 & Makita EA5000XS.
All performed exceptionally well, all pulled good round ground full chisel chains, Carlton, Husqvarna and Oregon.
Logs were fresh/green beech and hornbeam.

Another weekend and another truck load unloaded and refilled today. Maple, ash and little pine that's been down and some cut to length for close to a year. Not pretty but should burn well this winter. Hope to get the rest done next trip and start on some dead elm and hackberry that have been down for over a year.
Baby steps is my new middle name.20230611_150945.jpg

Seven year seasoned drier than a bone, hard as a rock.
A mix of Ash, Hornbeam, Oak, some of the harshest and hardest species around me.
Firewood pile from the local forest, it's knotty, nasty and tests my sharpening skills to the max each time I plow in.

Perfect candidate for some 043 chain backed up by the @Crocky28 power plant.
