When I removed the bottom clean-out cap from my flue, there was a bunch of wet [fly] ash. I dumped that in the box first. I'd say that it was about 1/3rd of what you see. We had just had tremendous rains and I do have a cap at the top, so not sure how it got so wet. But the rest was 100% from burning wood, and that was 3 seasons worth. Luckily I can sweep from my roof.Time to start stacking like @Wolverine
Ballpark 2 cords / 7 cubes - spring harvest, have to find a nice place and let dry for about 5 years.
Jason is that pure wood creosote/soot?
Awaits me too this fall, get that tall latter and hope we don't fall.

Good looking mess of firewood right there!Separated all the honey locust from the chestnut oak. Ended up being about 2.5 cords.

1/2 of the contents was wet ash. We just had some major rains so somehow water got in the bottom.

What were the temps up there? BRAVO!Got some hickory stacked up yesterday. Drank a gallon of water while i did it. Finished up and went into the a.c. At least another load this size and probably 1.5 loads of red oak.
I got lucky was moving a pallet and grabbed a wasp nest. Dropped the pallet and ran. Came back with chemical and hosed em down.
85 and high humidity. I'm ready for winter. What were the temps up there? BRAVO!
I feel ya...same here. Never seen it this hot in all my life!85 and high humidity. I'm ready for winter.
I’m about 5-6 years ahead right now(w/ about 22-23 cord), unless we have very mild winters which is totally possible. Stacking isn’t my favorite part by a long shot. Some of the guys over on FHC put mine to shame!Progress is rather slow ...
Not making is as nice of a stack as @Wolverine has going.
7 years is good enough for my dryness level, will be this winter's stash.

I prefer fall for cutting firewood. Winter is fine if snow is not 1-1/2 feet deep and sub-zero temps.85 and high humidity. I'm ready for winter.

Sweet trailer. It'd take me a good while to fill it up since I'm a one man show.I prefer doing just about anything outside when temps are 50 or less. I also like to hunt deer when it gets cooler out. I have the best luck finding wood when its hot as blazes out.
Moved the last of the hickory, probably another two loads of red oak. View attachment 386058
