Edwin, @Wood Doctor , had a Bradford pear tree taken down today (sad day for them). Here is the bounty from the removal. Not sure why he had me take it all while he burns and sells wood.20230520_151741.jpg

Could be because her truck is so powerful. We estimated this load of green Cleveland pear to be just under two tons. After closing up the lift gate we added a few more logs. Pear makes excellent firewood -- similar to mulberry but with no sparks. My customers love it. Cleveland and Bradford are about the same tree.

Dumped @Wood Doctor wood. 20230521_150942.jpg
Before that I split about 2/3 of the hedge that was in that area. After dumping I split the remainder of the hedge and made a small load out of some of it.20230521_150916.jpg
Called it a day other than mowing the yard when I got home.

Thanks for the help this weekend Edwin.:beer-toast1:

That first Pic showing the unloaded pear wood does not show all that was actually on board. We had unloaded half a normal pickup load that was already cut to length and ready to split. It is unbelievable how much she can pack on board that Super Duty. When my neighbor saw how much she carried away from the work site, he almost fainted in disbelief.

Welp, I unexpectedly got some more firewood off my property yesterday morning. Not a tree I wanted to cut or burn, but I had to for obvious reasons. I had to notch it with the top of the bar, and plunge cut from hinge to back because of the pressure and the 37 foot obstacle. When I clipped the 1" strap on the back and she fell perfectly to the applause of everyone there. The only embarassment was that my 371XP with the new bar and chain stretched and threw the chain (Oregon!), and I had to finish with the Dolmar 5105 narrow kerf.

Neither my neighbor or the deer were injured in the gathering of this wood, but a few of the recovery guys did take some clides down the steep bank.

Dang, that's an expensive ooops.
That RV probably had only 3500 miles on it. It was pristine and basically unused. Her husband passed soon after they bought it to roam the country, and only took one trip to Florida with it. She was taking it to town to get gas.

The JB hedge score is complete, being placed in 4 totes stacked close to 5' tall. Guessing 1 2/3 - 1 3/4 cords but open to opinions. Now the long nap before burning. Ignore the chunks in the front tote.

Damn Edwin and Jason (wood fairy). Jason called earlier today about a removal he was doing but I declined. He then texted me a couple hours ago along with an address that's not far. Edwin said there was some mulberry so off I went. Didn't need this wood but we are a sick bunch.
