Did you load those rounds by hand? Quite impressive.

Beautiful looking land you have there.
Yes, we did. With two of us we were able to roll them up onto the trailer.

It is beautiful country, my brother lives in the Manawatu which is in the lower western side of the North Island (4hrs drive plus a 3.5Hr Ferry crossing over the Cook Strait for me). That's grass fed dairy country, hence the lots of green grass! Not his land (just a farmer he knows well) and we were just removing the trees that unfortunately had rotted off from the roots and simply blown over.

Wouldn't cypress be valuable as a mill log?
Yes it is quite valuable as a mill wood, however these have started rotting from the base (which is why they had blown over). The ground is very wet which makes it very difficult to get anything in there large enough to remove the logs, the farmer simply wants them gone with as little disruption as possible and my brother needs firewood!

Got a bunch of oak today. Neighbor wanted 2 cut before they came down on his driveway and he finds out at 4 am. The 2 behind Wayne, he’s 84, also got bucked before we left. Go noodle them next week and haul home.
