I am using it! :D
It does OK in turkey oak, it would most likely do better in a tiny soft wood race kant. :p
The chain has some chip clearing issues, bore cuts extremely smooth and fast though.

I use the chain for play and as a conversation starter.
In general Full House sequence is being used for carving and cutting bamboo.

Thank You for watching and subscribing! :)

My pleasure! Thanks for the content! I tell ya, those Dolmars are some sleek looking saws and they seem to cut really good. Can't wait to get one! Well mine will be Makita branded. I don't know the whole history behind their merger, so maybe they've been the same thing for awhile, I'm not sure. They seem like runners regardless!

Thanks for the welcome friend! It varies quite a bit, but 5 cord a year, give or take. It's really all over and I kinda gave up trying to keep track. Our temperatures are all over the place in the winters. Some winters are bad, some we have alot of 50 degree days. We may have 3 weeks of near zero temps and 30 mph winds, then it may be 50 for a couple weeks. So I just do my best to always stay as far ahead as I can, so I'm ready for a bad one if we get one.

I also heat my garage with wood and work from home, so that adds to the usage a bit.
For sure.
We only do around 3.5-4 most yrs, I've only been burning for 9 seasons, this will make 10. We heat almost exclusively with our woodburner(never started the furnace), the pellet stove is only used when it's real cold or during the shoulder, last yr I had 5 bags and I still have one and the unit still has some in it.
I split a few loads of white oak this weekend, one Friday and three yesterday. I did three like the fist picture and then the one in the second picture. There was punky wood on the outside of a lot of it so I was only getting a bucket per tank of fuel, the big load it seemed to keep splitting so I just kept going :). It's all stacked in the woodshed now.

That's about how long I've been burning wood as well, 9-10 years.

I would love to have a little tractor with a loader bucket. They sure look handy! I have an old Case 580 CK forklift from the late 60's and it sure comes in handy, but I'd really like something with a bucket on it.

I really figured being in Michigan, you'd go through more than that. Maybe I just go through alot.

I was going to be all formal and make a thread introducing myself (I still will) but I just spent however many hours reading through this whole thread, so I figured I'd go ahead and throw up a few pictures of part of my firewood piles.

I had to chuckle reading through this thread, because people around here say I have alot of wood, but after seeing some of the stacks on here, I'm an amateur! Lol! Well let's see if I can get some pictures to show up!

I think that worked! I'm not real good at knowing my species of trees, but I've got a general idea of what I got.

The first 2 rows have mostly Locust, some Hackberry maybe, and possibly a touch of Cedar as well. There could even maybe be a little bit of Elm as well. The third one is the same mix on the right end, and the other end is Cottonwood. Fourth pile is Cottonwood, Cedar and I'm pretty sure the long lengths on top are Locust.

Each row is approximately 5 cord, except the last one obviously.

I also have about 5 cord more of Cottonwood in a wood shed, and 1.5 cord of Elm and Locust in another shed.

Welcome too the forum , that’s a good stash of firewood

That's cool!

After having the tractor I'd not want to be without it if I was in a similar situation, it really multiplies my strength.
Even a smaller tractor can do so much work
Maybe you could put a bucket on it lol.

You guys get a lot more wind I'd guess, we get buffered by Lake Michigan so its not usually as cold here as it is on the west side of the lake and even south of the lake much of winter.

I have literally said the same thing about my forklift! Lol! I used to always just power through everything with manual power, but since I got my forklift, I sure don't want to be without it now. I got a smoking deal on it, because it wouldn't start, so I bought it and fixed it.

You can actually buy buckets for forklifts, but they are pricey and buying the steel to make my own isn't cheap either. So I always figured I'd just rather save up and put that money towards a small tractor. I'll get one someday.

Yeah, the wind definitely makes the difference out here.

I saw a lot

I haven't seen a load of ash like that in years. Nice haul @Wolverine But it will be coming, I hope, as that stupid EAB bug has made it's way here.
There's dead ash all over the place here. One of these was quite a bit lighter that the other. Dad wanted it, so we took most all of the tree. He's a bit behind on wood so he needs for this season.
