Tulip poplar! My saw cut though it like a light saber! Wish I had the equipment to bring it home in 2 pieces. Would be prime cant wood.

Oh yeah I see the greenish yellow in the middle now. The softest of the hardwoods.

Holy cow. I have to try milling something this fall. I’m taking out mostly Oak and I’m dying to try it. even the pieces I’ve been noodling to lift up on the splitter look gorgeous to me

That's an excellent indication. I was doing that with apple and it led me to mill a bunch of tree's. That walnut was done on a band mill. Here's the apple.

Started bring stuff home from my oak scrounge. Atleast one more truck load split and waiting. Just need to see how much rain makes it to PA from the hurricane to figure out when I can get back for the rest.
