My son and I got some today. We cut a couple blowovers for the landowner. We used my XS 550xpg, Stump Shot 550xpg and my XS 572xpg. Everything was blocked up to 26" for a owb.

Ground was frozen pretty solid this morning so I skidded out some ash firewood logs. Already got the saw logs out and milled last week. View attachment 409105

The ground was softer after lunch, so I downsized my log handling equipment and made some piles of 6-10' logs that I'll grab with the grapple next time it freezes up. 20240224_155905.jpg

The way the weather is around here, those logs my not freeze up again until next December. Ryan, this has been a really good thread read between you and Brad. Tomorrow I plan to split a truckload of hedge rounds that I gathered a month or so ago. No reason to wait any longer. Even hedge takes awhile to dry. :clap2:

I got some firewood for my cabin this morning. My son had plans so we didn't cut much. But in the end every bit all adds up. We ran my oldest scarr 572XP and my scarr 4350.

Do any of you guys have tree guys dump wood off to ya?

I. have been calling around and I think I got 2-different guys that said they will bring some wood over…I said I will take every thing but pine and they said that was fine…so I will get silver maples and *s-word like that, but also will get hard woods too…so I will be able to cut wood on my own property which is the best case scenario…I have the space so would be silly not to try it!!!

I had some luck with putting my name on a list with getchipdrop.com. I must have received 5-6 dump trailers of firewood logs in the last 2 years that way. Alot of tree guys are excited to find a place to unload for free!

I asked the owner of the local saw mill if I could test run/run in saws bucking firewood for him. Turned into a great relationship! He paid me, I was able to get those tough cabers fully seated on the 361 I built my buddy, and enjoyed running the dogs off my 446 hybrid (my current favorite right now) 1000004553.jpg1000004554.jpg. I've never cut so much at once in my life. I actually rested Sunday. I also never rest🤣🤣
