The ibc totes will hold up fine as long as you treat them properly. We have used them for years and we gently toss splits in them without issue. At of lately we have been more so trying to stack the splits to get even more in them do less likely to damage the tote

there ok we just wrap them in chicken netting or stock fencing and zip tie them else the smaller splits slip through

We have paid anywhere from $25 to free. I think the average is $6 per tote. I may over fill them just a touch and not afraid to just throw the splits in. So far only damage is what they had when we grabbed them. I think we are around 100+ of the things but not all full.20230603_192457.jpg

Building some houses. Using the 330 gallon totes I should be able to load them and never take the roof off. Will need to get creative with the 275 gallon totes so I can leave the roof on while loading. Should have 8 to work with.20230919_160549.jpg

I got a little after work today. This is another tree with oak wilt in this area on the property that I cut on. I suck at dropping trees! I normally cut blow overs. This one wanted to fall and get hung up into other trees. I told the landowners that I would cut it up but there's no way I going to try to drop it! I smart enough to know my own limitations and I'm not going to get killed over a stupid tree. He dropped it Saturday. I didn't have much time after work. I started limbing it. I used my Stump Shot 550xpg.

Had to break out the BIG SAW for some of my free wood. lol

I've owned that Clamshell Poulan P220 (Chome Bore) for 3-4 years now.
BAD Air Filtration (I use a Covid Mask over the Foam filter).
I gotta say, it's a pretty good saw!
Lotso torque, I run it pretty rich, Stihl "Flat Top" 3/8LP chain (I wouldn't call it "Full Chisel").

IT ALWAYS STARTS, REGARDLESS!

I've used it in -9° weather!
Easly starts every single time (heavy for 42cc).
I have $31 (with $16 Stihl Chain) total investment in it! Lol

Cut and split up the ash that @Wood Doctor told me about last weekend. Then went down east of Bunny's place and cut up and split an (white?) oak that's been down but mostly off the ground for a few years. Sap wood about gone, but heart wood is perfect.20230924_153419.jpg

Lots of heat still left there. White oak is rare around here, so it's probably burr oak, which is the common local version of red oak. Makes little difference from a wood stove or heat content standpoint. It will burn like gangbusters, especially when mixed with hedge or dry ash. What a 3-way combination that will make!

Congratulations!
