Firewood thread!!! Let's see what you got!!!!

I went out yesterday to visit my friend Sam in Old Lyme who lives in this historical house from the 1700s:

He burns wood exclusively in this wood stove.

Today we gathered 4 trailer loads of wood the town had cut clearing the roads, mainly maple and oak, some sassafras too. Afterwards he helped me change out the radiator in my Subaru Forester that we had used to haul the wood.

They've had it since 1980, his father put it in in 1980 shortly before he passed away; Sam only has wood for heat in the house.

No gathering for me, I buy turkey oak logs delivered into my yard.

Temps in the 20's and dropping so thought a good time to break out the 550xpg that I picked up last year, I know a shame to let it sit in a box for that long. This is after around 2/3 tank of mix. What a screamer and I can't wait for it to get broken in.

A little less than 2 tanks. Kept my hands nice and warm as well. Think it's a keeper.

Got several logs waiting to be bucked and noodled. My buddy did a trimming job close to my house and brought everything to me. Mostly walnut, hackberry and some cherry. The cherry I loaded onto my truck, and hauled it out for him. Should give me a pretty good start on next years stockpile.
