The ash will be taken to a buddy who just started burning this year and is trying to get enough wood for the winter without buying. All cut to 20" won't fit my stove but his will take it.Nice stuff to burn.
Great score. Whole lotta splits in those chunks.View attachment 266124
The tree was closer to 30-32". The chunks are 3' with some up to 6'. It was weight dependent since the yard was on a side hill. We only found two screws in it, but the tree is over 100 years old, I'm sure it holds some secrets.
The neighbor had a couple small oaks dropped, guy never came back for them, offered them to me. The man that owns 136 acres at the end of the road, and 10 times that everywhere else offered two big downed oaks and anything I saw that was dead/dieing. Things always seem to work out better when you treat people with a little respect and are willing to ask. A simple phone call was all it took.

Nice job J on both the furnace and monster tree! Here is info on your spider friend!Oh yeah, I finally dropped the elephant trunk this past Sunday. My 42 just barely made it after cutting the butt swell.

This chunk is going to be pulled out of the root ball hole with a tractor.

Never saw a spider like this before. Noticed it walking by while we were taking a break.

Nice!! Hoard on!View attachment 266397
24" white oak the big land owner has. Gave me permission to take anything dead or down. Has one oak just up from this on the high side of the road, probably 36-40" already down and waiting. Lots of options on this property. I wish my dump trailer that I ordered was in, I hate borrowing one.

PS-Free wood never gets to be drag.
All the way.How far into the limb wood do most of yall go?
Like this...How far into the limb wood do most of yall go?
One tank of (0.37L fuel + around 0.14L bio chain : ) windblown trees. They were several km away, near the forest road, 3x1.5m trailer. Most of the firewood goes to the wood boiler (house / hot water) then the sauna.
Could be like a garage for your HooskiesMore pics of the trailer...
