Some pics, couple of them are the issues I found, others overall and muff mod I put to it. Big difference in acceleration after muff mod.

It feels solid, the quality is acceptable, the cylinders are getting better as well as other parts. I need some opportunities to put run time on the saw. I got my first ported saw so I used up all my logs cutting with that!

Gee I missed all the fun 'till now but the OP is not one I follow.

A few issues with my first 361 build:

Crappy cylinder casting:

Corrosion on the machined surfaces like they sat in a damp environment:

Carb wouldn't pass fuel until I replaced the pump diaphragm and metering lever spring:

Used a shorter spring out of a Farm Boss carb above.

Used the top rubber fabric pump diaphragm instead of the stiff plastic. Made it fit with my leather punch.

Major scare from the Farmertec decomp valve.

The muffler gaskets are crap paper.

We could only have it drop-shipped from China.
I think we could have them in our stock in a few months. I am going to order some after the Chinese new year.

Would the price be attractive as well. As you stated before -- plus the simple shipping from your warehouse in FL?

I think it was eluded to a while back by either a new guy or @Czed (he's such an ava-hoe) for the possibility of putting together some builder hardware kits, say one Husqvarna and one Stihl with all the different fasteners in a divided box or the like. This would be a lead pipe cinch to sell to guys building saws, I'm always looking for hardware for something or other and would love to have an assortment to pull from. SS

I suggested that they sell an assortment nut & bolt pack a while ago ... we will see.

Dave had a package of 5mm torx like five or six sizes x five of each. But not listed now.

HINT!!

And the turd head went on vacation just when I needed him.

Potlikker!

I made my own Mike, every time I need a new fastener I order 20-50 from Farmertech. Keep them in a clear tackle style style box. I recently lost a roller catcher and needed to replace so I got 10 of them cheaper than 1 OEM. Their plastic rollers instead of ceramic but work well. I got 10 oil filters too cheaper than one OEM. I've found the fasteners to be decent quality and closely copied. I won't buy air filters and important components but fasteners, compression plugs and stuff has been good.

The crank bearings seem to be better quality now i haven't heard many complaints I've used some of them.
I bought a set from Weedeaterman in July of 2015. I tossed em in a beat 064 a few weeks later and use the saw exclusively for ripping/ noodling. I just went back in last night to replace clutch springs (old oem clutch) and gave everything a good wiggle. Nice and tight. It gets used, but not daily/weekly.

Are they the same bearings as Farmertec? Not sure, but they were am so I'm assuming.
Got a Farmertec/huztl set that I didn't like as much. Noticeable ticking, a bit rough even after cleaning and oiling. Didnt use em but they'd probably be fine.

Just won an auction for another set. Gonna try em this summer.

Bedford T is gone. He also started another profile under the name "Fatty" so he could drop Huztl's web address on the page. Fatty is gone too.

Bedford must not have realized that it's fine to link to any other site from here (except spam and porn). But by creating two user accounts he broke some rules.

Calling me a racist bully really wasn't against the rules. lol As a matter of fact I liked it.

The thread turned into a informative discussion, so it can stay. I thought about deleting some posts from it, but that would just make the whole mess confusing.
you can delete my nonsense i had to derail it

Sometimes when you order those roller catchers they're plastic and sometimes they're ceramic. It's a crap shoot. But they both work

I've not done an entire kit saw yet, but have done unusually heavy rebuilds with FarmerTec and other AM parts. Seems there is usually a bug to be worked out and usually it happens right away before the saw leaves here, so a correction can be made. So I would like to think that an entire saw of AM parts would be not much different, it's going to take some mechanicing to get it to a working unit. I would also go out on a limb and say the best results will come from the best mechanics, I'm not saying that to put any one down or say I'm better or anything like that, what I am trying to get across is, people without the skills are going to have a tough time with this. Yes we will all help our brothers in need, that said it's also hard to grab a wench through the computer or smart phone to really lend a hand. I don't say this to discourage any one from trying these kits, but only to have a reasonable expectation of what you're going to be up against. Personally I think these will be fun for a lot of people, surely someone is going to slip through the cracks and not be happy. I look at it this way, do you think the guy that went out and bought an AC Cobra kit car had any less fun driving it because it was not "an original"? I say if it gets people out wrenching, modding and sawing, why not. Might be a fella wants to try porting for the first time and does not want to ruin his expensive favorite saw. Might be someone just needs an affordable firewood saw etc.. I'm also going to predict that with these kits being built by members of this forum, it will not take long to find every bug and know what every cure is with the great group of people that are here. One bit of data I have not seen, I wonder how the weight of these replica's compares with the originals?

That may be important if you are planning something like a 440/460 hybrid for the reduced weight.

Now, if they could just replicate an 046-D jug!!!
