We often use a BobCat E85 for tree work, its a bit small for the biggest trees but its much easier to move it from place to place and being a 9 ton machine it will handle most stuff we cut. Just a stock pic of one as I can`t find a pic in my photos,

A few days ago a dead tree that was on our place but outside of our fence line dropped across the private road next to us, so yesterday we cleared all the dead trees that are outside of the fence. @davidwyby, I saved some other dead trees that are inside the fence line for the next time you visit.

Took down a bay laurel, here we call a pepperwood. 5"2 on the stump, mainly hollow. Then a solid black oak 48" Sonoma area of donoma county. Our internet not the bests, still trying to download.

My friend planted them in the 80's after the infamous Creighton ridge fire. Said he made a big mistake. Up on top flat ground.

Two saturdays to get this down

It was 200 feet from stump to tassle. Back lean halfway up, toward my friends house. Joey had to get all the limbs out then top it. First I had to gall a redwood a tall one, they wanted wood to mill. And that redwoid was in the way of getting the fir out. After top we had to fall and pull with the bull rope and my truck. The spar I backcut with the 3120. That thing was a beast and old tree, took every trick we had to get it down.

For those that don't know, a 3120 is huge...it dwarfs a 395...and for the tree to make the 3120 look normal....

Good eye. Some dont realize that in comparison and size. Its a Canon 50inch. I faced it with the 500i. But wanted one quick easy backcut, because we were pulling and had heavy tension. Just mainly so I didnt have to play musical sides and could duckout quick.
