I needed a muffler spacer to use an 066 muffler on the 064 cylinder. They are part number 1122 145 1200. I figured I'd just burn off a few on the laser since they seemed to be priced ridiculously for what they are.. Used on the 034, 036 and 064. Maybe others.
Unfortunately the muffler I got does not have spark arresting screens. If anyone needs a dozen of these I'd trade for a duel port muffler with screens.

Those are handy as heck to have around. Id take a couple if you wanted to sell em off.

Finally got some more work done. The Mityvac showed up and of course it vac and pressure tested well. I was not too impressed with the tester though. The hoses and connections that came with it leaked pretty bad. I don't see how anyone could use it for it's intended purpose as is. I ended up pulling the hose and end pieces off my Harbor fright vac tester so I could get a good reading.
Anyone else have this issue?

Anyone have a source for the plug wire protective wrap?

When I got the bar it had a new roller tip and a good grooming but it looked like hell.
I have a coworker that does vinyl decals in his spare time so I had him make me a few stencils to paint my bar with. Stuck them on, taped it off and sprayed a bit of black on it.
Looks decent.. I know it wont last long anyways, I just wanted to try it.

Got some parts from Hutzl to finish it off. My first time ordering from them. I've ordered from Hlsupply and just kinda assumed the quality would be universal for aftermarket crap from china. Not so! This "elastostart" handle is the crappiest piece of crap I've ever seen. It wont be staying long.

I couldn't afford a new recoil cover or powdercoat services at this time so I spent some time touching up the paint with a toothpick filling in the chips. I've done quite a bit of this and the results are satisfactory for now.
I still need to swap out the top cover badge! A new tank/handle sure would look nice. This one is much more yellowed than it looks in the picture.

I blasted and PC'd the filter base plate. Color match was good! Wish we had the grey so I could do the rest. I also cut new rubber chip deflectors for the clutch cover.

Nice job!! Yeah, I had the same problem. Had to change hoses. Before I changed them if it detected a leak I would have to spray the hose first to see if it was leaking, fix that, and redo!!!

I tuned the carb at 2500 rpm idle and 11,900 rpm WOT. I've read 12,000 is the max for these earlier saws. Any other opinions on that?
Had a fresh blowdown so I had the wife film a couple cuts. Chain was sharp and saw was warmed. Pulled between 9500 and 10,000 in the cut depending on pressure. Halfway through the third cut I leaned on it pretty good.
What says all you experts? Good or should I lean it out some?

12k is very low and probably is 4 stroking under a light load.

Thanks for the reply.
Can you tell me where you are referencing that from? The sound of my saw in the cut or from personal experience?

This is taken from the Stihl 064 service manual.

Max. permissible engine speed with bar and chain: 12,000 rpm
