No sir. We're going to eat good. If by some chance I can't get a whole hog, then I'll have beef brisket, pork shoulders, and some other delectables on the smoker. We will start a list of what our local folks are bringing when the time gets closer. And by local, I mean within a few hundred miles.

Oh Jake......I hope you can bring a pie. :D
I can bring the salad lol

I can donate funds for the purchase of the meats, or I can bring stuff.

What we do at Wiggs is pass a hat for wood and stuff. I'm supplying the food. If anyone wants to bring a dessert or drinks, that's great too. I feel like if I invite y'all to my place, I need to be the guy that plans on feeding the crew.

Something to think about is a schedule for the day. In the past get togethers I've been to it would help.

Here is a example

8:00am--Meet and greet. Sign waiver, go over a few rules. Group picture.
9:00am--big wood show down. Sign up for the racing events
9:15--pie eating
10:00-- chain build off testing.
12:00--Dinner bell, lunch served. Pass the hat around.
1:30--Do a drivers meeting for the racing, go over rules. Cant racing starts.
3:00--.Saw polishing Demo by DDave.
4:00--Group picture
4:15--pie eating extravaganza

Thoughts?

seems a bit much to have the whole day planned. When is there time to goof off and Just play with saws?

A good friend is a pro welder/fabricator. I intend to have him "Ed-u-macate" me, beyond my current crude abilities and build a nice smoker as a learning process. Got me a few ideas as in an old fashioned fire box, a pellet hopper/auger for pelle use and a propane manifold in the bottom to finish cooking after the meat is fully smoked and big enough to hold at least a good sized hog if not a side of beef.

Hosting a gtg is a lot on the host. Some organization can eliminate a lot of headaches.
