That cylinder had the ever so slightly smaller "A" bore.
I checked the piston before I sent it and it fit fine.
Meteor measures to extremely tight tolerances on their pistons.
One of my chainsaw buddies mentioned the other day "meteor specifies and labels their pistons to the hundredth of a millimeter and there are guys worried about what oil is best" :)
If this saw ends up being as fast as I hope, we should start letting everyone know it is because of the mythical "A" bore KS jug :)
Guys will be scouring their dealers shelves opening every cylinder looking for the "magic jug".
I love watching build threads.
Always impressed by things outside my skillset.

I may have access to a "dead" 660

Will the 288 piston work after some lathe work?

Also does this piston make a difference in the late model
660 Jason? I know it was cool with a 064 bottom end!!!

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

I just vomited up my left testicle. I believe had two of them that left my shop on saws that I would have saved in my personal parts stash.

Just because it's a new 660 cylinder doesn't mean that it's not good.

The last cylinder he sent me was the best timed stock cylinder I ever seen.
Makes for good running saws, stihl has a couple things that can't be improved.

Jim, you went with a turned 046 flywheel too, right?
I could see how it would spool up quicker with less mass, but also how the heavier flywheel works better with inertia as you are headed through the 10x10.
Not knowledge, just guesses from me.
