3 of my older cousins, 1 male, 2 females, went to college. The male is actually still in college. They live in the city and are fancy and those girls actually worked their asses off each doing 2 jobs so they could pay for college all on their own with no debt. The boy has one job and idk how much debt he’s gonna have if any.
I’m not going to college.
That’s my version of a Bill G story I guess. 🤣

Probably wouldn’t hurt you to go get taught the correct way to do something for a job, even if it’s an apprenticeship in the ironworkers ect. Then you’ll learn a skill and get paid, the apprenticeship papers will be accepted at a lot of places as the 2 years of school if they require that.

Debt/money is not the reason I’m not going to college, it’s part of it but there’s more to it.

That may be but you’ll need some way to make a livelihood and it’s more fun to make enough to enjoy life some instead of just getting by. Working 2-3’jobs to make the same amount as if you went to an apprenticeship or trade school will free up some time to do other things. You probably will never love your job the whole time you do it so need to pick a balance between what pays decent and you can handle doing it for
30 years or so. I know plenty that spent tons on school and have a bunch of debt for something they can’t make a living at. Also know others that never went to school and work 2-3 jobs to make it. You need to find the balance somewhere in the middle for you because you work to live not live to work.

Good point. Currently I love my job, or now it’s just my summer job due to moving and stuff. The job is at a cattle ranch and it is often hard long work but I still enjoy it as a whole for some reason. However, I am aware it doesn’t pay enough to sustain myself in adulthood. $18 would likely be the highest I could get. I’m likely starting a job up north here soon at an Equestrian Center, they’ll start me really low, but eventually I will get $20 an hour there.

That’s some better but you need to look at the overall big picture of some type of health benefits partly paid for by employer and a way to save to eventually quit working weather it happens or not need to look towards that as an end game 30-40 years down the road.

Am I allowed to ask what jodhpurs and riding crops are?
I haven’t had a girlfriend yet.

The lady in the photo is wearing jodhpurs. Skin tight riding leggings, that go well with riding boots. She is holding a riding crop. It is a short whip used to control horses - or sometimes used in bedroom fun and games.

As soon as you get a girlfriend you will want (need) to earn more money. Good luck. Avoid the crazy ones.

Thank you. I’ve never heard the term jodhpurs before. I figured that was a whip and I’m very familiar with whips to control horses. I’m actually likely getting a job at an equestrian center. I wouldn’t want to be whipped in the bedroom.
This will help.

I’ll be sure to watch that later tonight!
Do you have have a gold coin in your wallet?
not in my wallet, but a lot of them in my safe
You realize he lives in Wisconsin
What does the fact that I live in Wisconsin have to do with this?

As a bonus you might get to meet lots of lovely young ladies wearing jodhpurs and wielding riding crops.

Her clothes may say she rides horses, but her legs say it was just a photoshoot.

As someone who will probably never be able to afford full retirement, I can second this. I also don't expect to get too far past 65. When my body fails, its time to go.

Cmon now, yall, this isn't supposed to be sad. I have no kids and never will, and what little family and the friends I have will all be gone by then (the only downside of all your friends being 55-80.) This was meant to be objective and to encourage LawnBoy to give more serious consideration to the path he's on and the direction he's walking.

I love to labor. When I can't run a saw and garden any longer, that's the time. I've seen too many people waste away for years, nearly incapacitated, with little to no quality of life. That's a sad existence, IMO, but to each their own and with their own priorities and definition of quality of life.

Now, cheers and cheer up you jacknapes!!
