idiotwithasaw, al smith and chainsaw jim all thought it might be a bad recoil, but I am too stubborn to listen to good advice sometimes.
I added a new .0020 base gasket and was all prepared to pull this saw to stellar heights and instead I couldn't pull it up to even 100psi any more.

Ok so I pulled Ugly Betty down from her perch and robbed her recoil assembly cause I know it works fine.

Lo and behold I can pull the pipe saw. It has a little compression left even after the gasket :)

I'm gonna stick a stock carb and muffler on it and give it a try tomorrow.

After I get it stuck all back together I am tempted to see what it is like without the extra gasket :)
sorry for the short update but I am making progress

At that comp 100% alky would be good....but add any nitro it might not shut off....looking forward to a vid of it!

Years ago I had an 044 that would not shut off on 10% nitro. Luckily I was running an 084 carburetor and had left the choke in, so you could kill it that way.

Dave you really gotta remove the draw bar/hitch ball when you're not towing.
I know it's a pain, but not as painful as finding it with your shin.

Either that or you've been kickin alotta ass lately. Pipe saw vid uploading yet?
