Here's something I shared a on another site -

If you have an older Poulan that is branded Craftsman and need a manual all you need is to do is enter the model number and the manual link comes up. Many older manuals have an IPL in the back. The link opens a PDF of the original manual. As an idea and what I do -- I save all my manuals as PDF's in a folder under "My Documents" as "Manuals" for quick reference. I have to tell you that the link also has manuals for just about ANYTHING that Sears sold/sells as long as you have the model number. ie Craftsman, Kenmore, Sony, Garmin and the list goes on.)

Here's the link. Enjoy!

Are these two saws the same like I think they are? Is it it a true poulan”before Electrolux”? What is it worth in the condition it’s in?

It’s about an hour away but he wants 75$, I think I’ll go buy it tomorrow. Looks fairly low use the craftsman is still readable on the bar. 3.3 20”

Was the chain brake an option on this saw at the time? I find it hard to believe the handle broke off by the condition of the saw but maybe it did.

The Poulan and Craftsman versions didn't get a standard chain brake until 1997 or so. In 1996 we bought a 2050 to use at my grandma's and it only had a handguard, none of the other Poulans at the store had a brake either.

Not sure exactly which one but most likely a Remington PL-55 or SL-55. 82cc.

@67L36Driver would know for sure.
Thank you very much, it needs some repair. But i figured it was worth the gamble, if for the bars and chains alone.

Ok, haven't torn one of these apart before. Not wanting to overthink the simple, and mess up a pretty low hours saw from look of p&c. Is a Roper build Sears Ranger lightweight automatic. Has compression of 165., and ran before fuel line split on me. How do i get the tank off to replace a fuel line? It isn't visible from the side like my old homelite that I fixed. 15438097105535627168282059847834.jpg 15438097360987287717224429339051.jpg 15438097456474186929957135829634.jpg 15438097105535627168282059847834.jpg 15438097360987287717224429339051.jpg 15438097456474186929957135829634.jpg 15438099161742116294852069680466.jpg 15438099407625705695691951290009.jpg Isn't leaking from tank halves, and is clean inside so not wanting to split if i can avoid it.
