I think it was but not sure, just know it was not like a regular chain cause only the top of the cutter was sharpened by the stone.

Yes. They are where the current version of the Oregon powersharp came from. I have a blue Craftsman 2.3 ( Poulan S25CVA in blue paint) with the powersharp set up. I don't think it cuts that great. It's more of novelty thing thing for me. Those older 1/4" chains are getting hard to find unless they are on a saw.
