The 500 pulls the 36 fairly well given the circumstances. Not like a 661, but definitely better than a 461 in equivalent form. It feels like a wet noodle though with a 36 as far as the handling. But it works.
It definitely allows snow and moisture to get to the air filter, but I haven’t had any issues regarding that.

Why didn't you cut all the tree's before it snowed?

Well, I’m sure it’ll help with longevity as well as daily endurance. Less weight should be better on the body.
Personally, I’d rather run a 661 with a lightweight bar than say a 461 or 500 with a full-weight.

We cut trees year-round, and this 140 acre unit happens to be at about 3,000 ft.

They have been good saws for me for sure.

Back to the bluffs in the burn with the 500i. This thing is awesome with a 28 in this stuff. I’d hate for the 500 to cartwheel down the hill here. Or myself for that matter, lol.

The weight of the 500 combined with a lightweight bar is really nice on these slopes. And plenty of power to boot in this timber.
