I have an 038 Magnum II that was pieced together with the help of a saw that I bought from @how57 and parts from @Woodwackr.
It has OEM Magnum cases, crank, and top end. I rebuilt with new rings, intake manifold, seals, and bearings - I wish I remember what I used, but they were nice looking and came with the dust caps, which I removed. I also installed a new mesh style air filter, and a rim sprocket-style clutch drum. With the new air filter, it only takes a couple of pulls on choke to start. Factory dual port muffler. Chinese handle/tank assy with AF cover. I bought a reproduction Stihl Oilomatic chain sticker for the clutch cover, which I also tracked down to be more period-correct. The factory full wrap handle has a repair at the joint where the support bar meets the loop. Scrench holder covers it up. So, all OEM except for Caber rings, tank handle and filter cover, and bearings.
It is a strong saw, and I have only put about a tank through it. I raced it against my ported 266, and it is dead even with an 8 pin sprocket. Torquey with a 7 pin and low rakers.
I don't particularly want to sell this saw, but I have to do some thinning of my collection somehow. So I'll list it as $600+shipping, can include bar if you want to pay for shipping.
