Update on the haybine nothing apparently wrong bought new chain roll put new on finished the hay I wanted down only thing I could find wrong is this dumb thing that guides the chain It's shiny so I'm gonna assume my chains were loose couldn't see it as this had the chain propped up beings the chain was rubbing it got very hot in there bearings all good I left that guy out as it seems to do more harm than good I'm assuming one of the chains ended up bunching and slammed into this piece so it broke then caught the other chain Still stubborn cursed machines the haybines...

never did care for diesel engines parts are 10x more expensive fuel is more expensive and the up keep cost more.

It has a series of sprockets the only time it should ever touch that guide would be if the chain was loose . I'm assuming the idea of that thing I took out was to idiot proof it .... Problem with that is it's real hard to get into the inside chain Almost a two man job Just looking through the hole I couldn't tell the chain was loose without the piece I took out I'll be able to see the sag and tighten it I believe if the chain gets that loose now it would almost touch itself as it's about a 6 foot chain Since I saw it fail I will not allow it to run loose to that point and less friction should keep the old bat cooler Piss poor explanation I just gave there but best I can do Had it been built differently they could have added yet another idler pulley /sprocket
