I don't have a laptop but if ya do you can look up the pistion specs at baileys. But i think the 385 has longer skirts. If it has a taller top ya might not have to do so much jug work. The 056 looks a lot the same as the 385.I have thought about using a 385 piston.
That's why I didn't use it. Thanks alanThe 385 is a bottom feeder, so its piston has skirts all the way around, these would block off the lowers of a middle fed saw like 066. A better possibility would be a 288 piston in a 385!
Sounds like something you should try with a longer rod to compensate the pin height difference! The 385 is a bottom feeder, so its piston has skirts all the way around, these would block off the lowers of a middle fed saw like 066. A better possibility would be a 288 piston in a 385!
So your saying you need a 288 piston and a stroker crank!A 288 piston takes a 660 to another level that can't be reached with a stock piston.
Just another bit of proof that Huskys are better, huh?A 288 piston takes a 660 to another level that can't be reached with a stock piston.
I raise most stihl intakes, they all have more intake duration than I like. The 281s skirt wont quite clear the crank throws, have to machine a little off. The jug also has to be dropped quite a bit, so the intake duration is longer than what a work saw needs.
