Checking on my JMS 066

Damn guys, I'm reading the forums on Tapatalk right now, and under this thread it is an add for a 29€ "ponceuse à bande", I think it's the French for "belt sander". Should I buy it and start a new saw porting business in Europe?

Told me his father owned 50 saws. Wouldn't you give your son-in-law one if he fell on hard times?

@Jchin got hosed on that one. Sent J a sweet 10mm 044.

He also sent J a sweet 064 or 066 to have decomp added to. J replaced his Jug with an AM one that "was the best jug he ever saw". I'm sure he charged Jack, but good.

I know Jack, he's a giving guy and a fantastic human being. He got hosed like the other guys here. But when you actually deal with Jack someday, you'll understand why his situation is particularly disturbing.

That rear rib or ledge is what gives the flat magnesium its strength. With several "chain events" the mag doesnt stand a chance, chunks off, and you're left with flimsy material.

If you're not planning on using that case after you've swapped it for a good one, may I ask you to send the case halves to me ?
I'd like to see if I can weld it and build up that rib ............ make it a project for me on a rainy day in the future .......... definately not the close future, but eventually I'd like to give it a go

No problem Kevin, there yours. The real problem with the cases is that he lied and said they were like new and painted.

I need a little case repair on a 3120 doc. Needs a boss built up where a top cover bolt goes. It's on a saw I'm going to sell.....

When I get a little time, I've gotta try a little pulse with Mag welding. It don't flow like Aluminum and the filler likes to ball up before it hits the puddle more.

I had 2 carcasses. Built 1 saw out of them. 1 half of the case was beat up, and @ny15 gifted me a case half. I believe there are still 3 halves out in the garage, all in various states of disrepair. Nothing as bad as Mason's, though. Pm me your address and I'll send them over when I find them
