I've never walked around barefoot and had a felling dawg stuck in my big toe.....have you? You Soddy Daisy hillbilly...

I referred to the locals here as Utards, when Dave and I were on the phone earlier. So don't think he came up with that all on his own.
Lmao who would do such a thing.

mason gets one free pass with me, if he *Phüks up again, well.............

It might take me a while to like him, im not mad he stuck up for a guy that totally pulled the wool over him, he apparently lives in a box and has little to no life experience..its more along the lines of the names he called a few people and how ignorant he got.

the first one is the better one im not sure what one without broken corners look like because im not a husky guy
I just purchased the complete one for buck n a half. Did that yesterday, just read this thread this morn.
Been lookn fer a 395 crankcase for a friend for bout a yr now.
3 bills for a new 1.
He wouldnt have a 394 case, he says a long bar in hardwood, logging, wears out the pto bearing pocket.
His saw was smashed by tree with less than 10 hrs on it.

After we get this put together I want him to run 10 tanks thru it ,,check for gremlins.
Once it is bug free Im gonna port it for him. Just basic job mind you,, thats all I do anyway.
Widen intake, exhaust,,clean up lowers,, lil off piston skirt on intake side.. And advance timing..and gasket delete if applicable.

Once you start cutting bases, bands,,change timing numbers...Thats where a pro, like the ones on here come into play.

Basic woods port as I do ,is so simple a caveman can do it.20170718_203415.jpg

I picked up the other one which had a tank, flywheel, crank, top handle too.
It looks very clean , low hr saw.

Very nice!! I picked up a box of parts a year or so ago...carcasses/cylinders....forgot about them. These were in the box.

If yer talking power, sumtimes yes. Sum saws wont come alive unless you go the black arts routine.
Did a basic on the 200T I have for sale. That lil saw is unreal!
So is my 288 lite..and 266 big bore.
Did pertty much the same on most my saws.
346 that I put a lot of time into,,,ya can hardly tell I did anything to it.

If yer talking money tho, I dont get chit, basically dont charge.
Peeps I kno,, I do for them, when I need sumpin, they do for me.

There is no difference between a 394 and 395 case besides the tag.

This is why I never had the itch to have a saw from each builder. I followed MM for a year and critiqued who he was as a person as much as his work. Needless to say, Ive never felt betrayed or had a single issue from his work. Numbers don't lie- over 50 saws ported by the same builder and happy with every one of them. Obviously I won't be venturing out. I know there are many great builders on these sites, but I have a great friendship with Randy. Im not a customer to Randy, Im a friend, and time and time again he has shown what it means to be a friend to me and my family, even inviting us into his home.

I agree with Ryan, I have a small circle of guys I will deal with. I do repeat deals with the same guys that I know have the same core values as me. My friendship and name is always on the line.

Thanks for the kind words Steven.

Me being swamped and slow as molasses is what allowed someone like Stratton to pick up more work than he should have.

That said, I have no desire to take on more work, nor to I intend to "hurry things up". I do each saw the same way.

Slowly.

To make matters worse, I just had to get some cattle. And.....I enjoy making hay. And.....I like fixing up old equipment. And......I don't think I'm gonna change.

I'm really glad that we have a group of great saw builders here that can fill the void. I've done a fantastic job of marketing myself, but I can't keep up with the volume of work that I've generated.

Thank you all for stepping up to right these wrongs.

Now.....I have a baler to hook up. :D
