So sorry Gary. I've been an orphan since I was 47 but I still remember it well. My mom had a good life, raised me and eleven other lesser individuals but I sure miss her especially when my grandkids do something she should see. Stay strong but always celebrate her birthday instead of commerating the day she died.

Hah hah the shirt is an OLD hand me down from my dads days in the army. Yes the KFD is fd hence the stache. It was originally Kempner volunteer but my paid department happens to be the same first letter so it worked out quite well.

It’s funny you should say that ours has been cracking down on our handlebars and mustache grooming quite hard lately. Something about those pesky air packs sealing or something like that...... I dunno

And lots of freaks that like to play with other people sticks and carpet just not the right way around! I’ve got 6 more years and I’ll probably call it quits and find something a bit easier on the body up and down on trucks and stinking 105-110 outside temp is not my idea of having a ball any more. It’s fun in fall spring and winter but summer sucks to be in bunkers.

This is true, given the oportunity to do something that will be easier on the body for the second half of my non retired so I can enjoy it instead of being like so many crippled and torn up retired firefighters I meet sound appealing to me. I guess life choices have a big part to play in that.... and the schedule can’t really be beat. Pros now cons later. Once again rolls back to life choices. I’ve done both that you mentioned prior to landing here.
