I've been waiting for one of these big money guys to ask how much it would take. Kinda embarrassing for a guy with funds as limited as mine to ask about a gun like that but... inquiring minds want to know.

That's about a thousand dollar gun.

Smith & Wesson is about the best help a man can get. I've had a few over the years, this M14 K38 Masterpiece with Bo-Mar rib, third lock, slicked and tricked will stay with me for the rest of my days.

If you can find an old model 10 that was cheep and plentiful, one heck of a helper can be built off of that chassis. With +P loads do a fine job and won't rattle the frame apart like the model 19 with heavy magnum hunting rounds.

They are nice pieces too Travis! Cool, does it have any markings from the department on it?
My model 38 airweight has the hammer with a shroud is my favorite bought it used 15 years ago. Was a Decatur City detective's piece. Good shooter for 1 7/8 "

Nice! Pretty cool little weapons. I carried one too when I started way back. Lol

When they came out with the concealed hammer models, I sold it and upgraded. I should have kept it though.

The mod 28 is a fine old gun. Large frame would take a ton of rounds and still be tight.
The mod 19 was my first revolver. Thousands of reloads thru it.

Find an old mod 10 or 13. Some were made with a heavy 3" barrel. Years ago we saw these from police depts. when they upgraded their firearms.
Both those guns were modded with a heavy longer barrel and rib for bullseye.
For a 2" a Colt detective special is a solid iron.

The gun that went with me for many years hunting , fishing and just wandering around the woods is a S&W mod 17 w. 6"bbl. 22 rimfire.
Action job and good grips. Accurate enough for a few squrrels and many cottonmouths and turtle heads in the pond. This one is about 45 years old.

For just shooting, plinking, field shooting i will take a wheelgun over semi auto.
In the 80's for about 6 years i shot 4 to 500 rounds a week thru handguns.

Inherited a similar one. Bottom S&W would make a nice tractor revolver. Airweight is a +P to carry. IMG_8010.JPG
