Chain help!

I inquired about the dogs because oversized dogs have the effect of making a chain seem overly aggressive. To the point that a lightweight saw can get sucked into the dogs easily and bog

I don’t know if maybe its computer just isn’t used to the new hardware and it just isn’t setting itself correctly. I did what Donny walker said and let kit just idle for 15 minutes just to let it do anything on a program level.

Just to let you know that doesn’t do anything if it’s out of parameters it’s out and needs recalibration with the mdg1. They adjust basically immediately to anything it can within its ability and if it’s outside the range it will end up running like crap or blown up maybe both.

As Kevin said large dogs act like a wedge and as the saw gets pulled into the wood it actually will apply down force on the bar and chain. They like these?

I have Egan dogs, which are about the same length as WCS Shorties. And I took an inch off the end of the Egan dogs. Put your stock dogs back on and try it and you’ll see the difference.

Long dogs force you to run non-aggressive chains, which pretty much eliminates the possibility of a chain that feeds on its own. So you’re always forced to use them even in small wood

Trust me, I’d love to compare it to something that’s been ported 1 of 1 and not a mass produced kit. I have my 462 being ported now by CFB but I believe he’s winding down his services and I don’t know of anyone besides Donny walker that takes work in Canada.

I ran my PS-6400 with 36"/115DL 3/8" round ground full chisel full complement in oak just for giggles and she did fine being mere 64cc.

Same chain/grind/rakers as for running that B&C setup on my PS-9010/7900/7310, but the PS-6400's bucking spikes/dogs are much smaller & shorter.

I have a friend who stalls out his MS500i with a Stihl RS 60DL 3/8" B&C setup, he is always janking the rear handle upwards to "cut faster".
I do not want to know how that clutch looks like!
